DUDE!!!! They're arguably the best team in baseball right now and finished with 97 wins and it's been over 100 fucking years. Win the god damn World Series. Fuck...
They are a really good team. They will add another top of the rotation starter and the experience and growth the young players have gotten will make them even better next year. But they have just 1 great starter and 1 very good one. Sure, Hendricks pitched really well in his final 3 starts. but 2 were against the Brewers and the other against a Royals team he was facing for the first time. I hope he stays on this hot streak, but don't really have great faith it will play out that way. A young team in the post-season for the first time, doesn't usually do so well. That's why this experience is so great for them to get, even if they don't win a pennant or World Series title. If it were not Arrieta pitching against them in the wild card, I might favor the Pirates to go to the World Series this year. I'm very happy they have the chance to eliminate them in a 1 game scenario with Jake taking the ball. I would not want to face them in a series right now. The title of this thread was "Congratulations Cubs" I think that was a nice gesture and one that was deserved. they won 97 games in the regular season, qualified for the post-season, have the Rookie of the Year, the Cy Young award winner I believe) and possibly the Manager of the year. Rizzo will probably get some MVP votes as well. Congratulations indeed, and best of luck to them all in the post-season.
