i'm a fan of rice in burritos. what i can't stand is refried beans. get that mushy dogshit out of my burrito.

Call me crazy....but it almost seems like different people like different things in their burrito...and maybe restaurants and 'burrito shops' have figured out how to make it profitable to cater to people's individual tastes!

mayo is a good example. those people need to be shot.

the existence of arby's is also a good example of terrible tastes allowing horrible food to exist.

Then you'll be happy to know that I haven't set foot in a Chipolte in years despite living and working 1 block from one. I do, however, go to Taqueria San Juancito on Kedzie and Lawrence once a week and sometimes twice if I'm really in the mood.

I have never understood the love people have for Chipotle.

I was with a group traveling a few weeks back. We passed one and people freaked out and had to stop and have a meal there.

I was completely unimpressed.

Yeah maybe, especially at 1/3 of the price. Give me two of the Taco Bell salt-bombs over one bland Chipotle, even though Taco Bell has worse music playing.

I'd rather have a burrito from another place that seems to specialize in burritos. Shops like that actually exist, despite popular belief.

Agree with the last two replies 100%. "Completely unimpressed" suits Chipotle to a T. I think I have had Chipotle about 5 times in my life, as I used to get a gift card almost every year from a vendor at my previous job. If I never eat at one again I would be OK with it.

The bad part about Chipotle is that the temperatures are never right. The rice and protein and usually warm, while the other items (salsa, beans, etc) are usually cold. So it ends up a weird hot-cold meal.

i like the sofritas
when they first had it there was a promo where if you bought one items w/ sofritas you got a coupon for an item of your choice (any meat) next visit...so basically they were letting you try it for free. it's not bad at all , i order it occasionally

Chipotle's is good. Yea, it's kind of bland but pretty much all Mexican food is bland. Claiming there are far superior burrito places is silly. It's relatively all the same.

they all just have juan put away the eggs and bacon after 11am and start cooking up the lengua and carnitas.
