what's the point!? Witten was declining big-time over the last few years of his career and this is gonna shit all over the development of Swaim and that other guy they had (or at least one of them at any given time, assuming the cowboys run some 2TE sets) -- does Witten come back thinking the Cowboys are poised to make a super bowl run? Or will it (likely) be some schlock about how he's gonna be a locker room leader and mentor Swaim + other dude like he did with Martellus Bennett?
you figure he isn't gonna walk back into a giant contract cuz it's not like Witten retired after 2013 or something... And he seemed to luck right into the MNF gig, which is about as good as that line of work gets. something odd is going on here... Maybe he was gonna be dropped from MNF so he comes back to the cowboys to save face and make it look like he decided to leave MNF cuz he had the football itch but I'm reality he's just trying to prop up his resume.for.the future?
Or, maybe just maybe, it's like I said b4 and they're delusional down there in Dallas thinking they're just a few receivers away from.being the class of the NFC? Witten seemed to be one of those "Sons of Jerruh" types so you know the door was always open, but to actually ditch the MNF booth to come back and be an old relatively/shitty TE?! yikes.
