There has been a lot of talk recently about Bryant. That he's soft, he keeps getting injured, etc..
But let's flashback on how this all started. And how the Cubs manager/staff is to blame for Bryants ills.
It was in 2017 when the Cubs started the 2nd half of the season after the All star break. They were in Baltimore playing a 4 game series when Bryant slid into third and hurt his pinky finger.
So you say what a pussy, he hurt his pinky finger.
But to a hitter this is a big deal.
WHAT THE CUBS SHOULD HAVE DONE is put him on the 10 day DL (as it was called at that time pc crowd).
Maddon and Theo and staff did not do that! I dont know if it was a decision from them both or one of them. But that was a huge mistake. Because the next 2 mo, Bryant had to change his swing to account for the sprained finger.
This totally fucked him up by changing his swing. He wasn't getting any power under the ball and he was hitting more line drives than before.
that's how it started.

i feel like the cubs version of beardown after typing this.
Bryant’s best years are behind him. It sucks.
Regardless of the why, who, or how...he’ll be lucky to make 3 all star teams. His days of top 5 MVP voting are not walking thru that door.
Again, it sucks—for the Cubs and for him.
