Is he going to make the team if he's not in the rotation? Assuming he's healthy (big IF) and has something left (big IF), I don't mind if he is an occasional spot starter, maybe the 5th to open the season, long-reliver on days where Lopez or Cease suck, but I'd be surprised if there's much left here.

He doesn't have the command to be a spot starter. He develops his command through work. When he gets the work, he breaks down. His ONLY hope is to not break down as a regular set up guy or a 5th starter. He has NO HOPE as a spotty pitcher, even in relief.

What renteria did with him last year was borderline malpractice.

I don’t mind Rodon on the roster provided he’s not a guy they rely on. In the rare moments he’s been healthy for long stretches, he’s been fine.
