if Joe Crede didn't have the September he did last year I think he very well may have been cut! He has four years of sub par baseball in Chicago, but had a great September anb October, but he is right back to where he always has been, batting .214.

I can only judge him in comparison with other 3B in the league and when I look at that he is floating in the range of Bill Muellers, Melvin Mora, etc, which is well into the lower half of the league.

I actually thought they should have signed a new 3B in the offseason, as unpopular as it would have been.

There is no doubt the Sox would have let him go had he not had a big Sept. and Oct. But the fact is he did have those big months. Big hits in the clutch. I think that gave him the confidence he needs. I'm already on reccord saying he will have a great year. He hit the ball hard 3 times on saturday just couldn't find a hole.

Mora is an All Star. I compare Crede more to a Cory Koskie.

Crede is good enough with the glove and cheap enough in salary that you can live with him for now. Josh Fields had a very good spring and is playing in Triple A. I expect that Crede, who has the hated Scott Boras as his agent, will be gone as soon as he is a free agent.

Well guys without Crede the Sox don't win the last two games. He made 5 great defensive plays and had 4 RBI's. It's funny because sometimes you can go an entire week without even having an opportunity to make a great play and he's had a bunch to start the season. He should win the gold glove this year.

I used to be a pretty big Crede-doubter during the season last year, but once he hit the postseason, and as was mentioned above, he definitely got the monkey off his back and really impressed a lot of people. As long as he stays healthy and takes care of himself, I now have no doubt that he could be one of the better Sox 3b's ever.
