Perpetually offended.

He seems to have an issue with Uecker because he was in Major League and they had Chief Wahoo in the movie (as he went right to in transition). Yesterday, he sort of made fun of him dying by saying there's a job opening in Milwaukee - yes, true, but also an odd thing to toss into when everyone else thinks the guy is a legend; when the topic of him dying came up, he just changes the topic to the movie director who died as a significant loss.

what an ass.

I think Dan's attitude about Penn State also is due to the fact that Penn State fans threatened his kids, hacked him and he had to hire security. He mentioned that the last time he brought up his disdain for Penn State. I think that would effect my attitude as well.

I think you’re mixed up. That happened after he ranted on Penn State, Paterno and Sandusky day after day for a year.

Sadly that is the way of our social media world these days. I cannot imagine what Mark Andrews might be enduring today.

Why does Bernstein have a tweet with Caleb and Johnson talking about his own great parenting? Makes no sense.

To start yesterday's show on 1/20, they "jokingly" asked if anything was going on in the world and then spent 5 minutes referring to MLK day and how people should study history, know what he stood for, etc. Throughout the show, references to today's society having no truth any longer and everyone has their own versions.

Dan was on twitter dropping mis-information all night yet these two are going to be high and mighty about what's happening? Give me a break as Biden says.

Again, it's sad that a sports show can't just talk sports without bringing in lies and ugliness.

Also, on a sports note, the Ben Johnson hire is another reason why you shouldn't believe what Dan is telling you. Lately, he's been big on calling out "informed" conversations that Dave Wannstedt or Brad Biggs are having. Wannstedt said last week that Johnson was not going to end up with the Bears and Biggs is a bit more cautious, but was not optimistic on their changes. Dan says we must listen to these people because they are in the know and talk to people in the know. Complete garbage. The Score spent weeks telling us the Bears didn't know what they were doing, had a bad process, etc. and then hired the best candidate. Make that make sense.

Also, you can't talk about the Ben Johnson hiring until you have first made a statement saying you don't like that the Bears went around the Rooney Rule. It's a must that you denounce any teams that hired their preferred candidate, but first showed how stupid the Rooney Rule is. You must denounce before you then go on.

WSCR used to be the place to go for breaking Bears news, finding that AM 1000 is a far superior product, caught a few minutes today and it was an old school approach with callers sprinkled in amongst guests.

Really do not have time to waste filtering through the WSCR SJW filler content, so do not even bother to listen.

Kind of a sad ending for what used to be an entertaining and informative sports talk radio station.

Been trawling the back alleys and mean streets of the Twitterverse for some time now and rarely have I come across something that got as ratio'd ( as the kids like to say) than Lil Danny's tweet. He really is a piece of shit.

I thought little Danny was taking his social media performance to Bluesky?

Also it's kinda nuts that since cancel culture totally doesn't exist, that Dan is trying to implicitly shame the Bears new coordinator with the actions of his father.

On today's show, in response to some idiot they had on, Leila agreed it would be great if the NBA had more non-gender referees in their effort to increase diversity.

I'm not sure if they are completely unaware, don't see the irony, think there's not connection to what Dan did (which probably means that Dan is actually the victim in losing his job), but they covered a story from the UConn game where their coach (Hurley) made comments after the game to the Baylor team about the refs. Apparently, the UConn media team threatened to ruin the reporter's life if they didn't take down the video of his comments to Baylor's team about the ref's.

Both Leila and Marshall thought it was unacceptable what UConn did to the reporter.

This was just after their opening segment where they praised Dan Bernstein and what a wonderful person/host/mentor, etc. he is/was.

Also, in transition, Spiegel seemed to be congratulating them on being the new mid-day show...Did anyone else hear that?

Their statements were weak. Back in the day it would have handled in transition. Mully and Haugh haven’t said shit. Neither has that fake tough guy Holmes. Dan, along with Terry made Holmes. Sad what that place has become. I sent my good bye message to Mitch. Have fun with the lack of choices to cobble together a lineup

Okay, listening to the podcast for I was curious how they would address Bernstein firing.

The guy was not bad, Leila, she sounded like she had to be reading from a script and sounded like she was choking up.

She kept repeating herself, saying emotions are high......then the guy started reading from a script and saying Dan was his friend and what a great guy...then Leila says she has to read the Illinois penal code and people venting........venting what?

No host now is bigger than the Score. Outside of Chicago and do to his Eddie thing with Barstool, no one knows who the hell he is.

This might be the worst tribute/addressing the issue I have ever heard. Now she is letting us vent again.

Yeah, Leila is trying to make a comedy bit about being cyberstalked and reporting her cyberassailants to The Proper Authorities pursuant to Illinois law (or elsewhere), but the people who have been the most vocal about l'affaire Messenger have been celebrating Dan's firing because of how much they hate him, while the people who liked him pretty much recognize he fucked up big and has no one to blame but himself, so what sort of blowback could she be catching, anyway? Even if she is, the angle of "this polarizing but beloved media personality crashed out, probably ended his career, and certainly embarrassed his family, but in a way, the real victim in all this is me" is distasteful, yet exactly what I would expect from a half-baked understudy of Dan Bernstein.

Leila's fake preachy "victim card...listeners vent... we're too superior to vent... repeating five times look up Illinois law.... defending a child threatener" Bernstein tribute officially slid her into the garbage host category.

If you didn't know any better, you would think Dan died. If you don't follow this stuff, you would not realize he was a toxic person. Listening to them, none of that came out, it was just what a wonderful person he was and what a great impact he has made. I don't care if they like him, but presenting this as a tribute to him without acknowledging any specifics on his behavior is laughable.
