What are you more excited about? His .310 OBP or his 25% K rate? Oh yeah, it's his defense!

Yeah. He's only in the top 20 in WAR in all of baseball. Sox assclown response.

Put him in the Hall of Fame with Kris Bryant and Corey Patterson and Albert Almora. Cub fans are utterly ridiculous.

Oh yeah? Just Cubs fans, Mr. Palka?

 I never thought Palka was going to the Hall of Fame. He showed some earmarks of an elite power hitter. I'm not shocked that he busted out.

What do you expect of Pete Armstrong-Crow? Jim Edmonds? Andy Van Slyke? Would that be a disappointment?

I "expect" nothing. I hope he continues his quality defense and continues to use his speed to fuck up opposing pitchers and defenses. At no point have i (or others) declared "elite" talent like you did with immediate nothingburger flameout Palka.
And you can shit on Bryant all you want but the cubs positively played him 100% correctly. They got rid of him and almora and baez and CONEtreras at precisely the right time. They got their career years and said bubye.

By the way... PCA is a one tool player the way I see him now. Speed is (har har) a fleeting asset. You won't have it forever. Better develop the rest of the tools.

And back to bryant...
Real cubs fans were calling him soft as soon as 2015... and they were right.

If PCA hit 393 homers and hit .284 for his career like Edmonds I'd take it. PCA hit his fifth dong tonight and has 4 RBIs.

All of those posts were more of an indictment of the White Sox front than they were an aggrandizement of Palka.

But keep on Cubbin'. Maybe this guy really will be Willie Mays.

Please do not turn CB’s hyperbole into all Cubs fans thinks he is Willie Mays. PCA is hot right now, but you should at least acknowledge he has talent and potential. Fans are going to get excited about a young player that has this much raw ability.

I've been around cub fans all my life. Mark Grace could've been elected mayor. Cub fan priorities have always been a little fucked up and always will be.

Did you feel the excitement about Tucker in the off season? There was zero excitement about Kyle Tucker. I tried to tell them. The response was "yawn" or "whattabout Belly?"

A goofy looking kid is on a tear in April. I think cub fans are enthralled with all his goofiness. Why? Because it's so Cubby.

There is no doubt we fall in love with players in a Cubs uniform. I did not know a thing about Tucker. I was glad they dumped Bellinger. I wanted the deck cleared for PCA and Busch. It appears they have built a competitive team. Maybe it drops off in May like last year. But I am enjoying the roller coaster games even if the bullpen issues are deflating.

Any Cub fan I know greatly appreciates Kris Bryant for 2016, but there wasn't a whole lot of uproar when Colorado gave him a stupid contract....and boy was that a stupid contract.

Sounds like White Sox fans are envious of the Cub fans having something to cheer for this summer. All you have to look forward to on the South Side is take your dog to the park day.

i do realize that you are captain baseball from the sox army, but can't take your tucker statement as ex cathedra. just like 3rd base or SP & RP, the sarcasm and cynicism is directed at cub management who failed to extend tucker after the trade and are currently watching his price go up by the tens of millions every week - increasing the difficulty for shysters ricketts & hoyer & hawkins of resigning tucker. that's the yawn? plenty of excitement - the other issues address trying to win the national league, not beating out the brewers for 1st in the central and getting swept in the 1st round and then losing tucker to free agency. the yawns are for eli morgan and justin turner.

as far as pca, look at some of the late 2023 cub game threads - cubs fan here shitting on him. a few "you hate to see it" from captain baseball as the cubs faded away from the ever elusive WC spot. the man hit in triple A against the same pitchers other young talents in mlb had hit. it was a matter of time for pca, time some fans didn't have for him. he was big spasm and at times, still is.

speaking of tucker and ricketts, the cubs apparently low-balled pca on a recent contract extension. pca is playing for $250 million, not $89 million. the club generated nearly $200 million more in revenue than the blue jays last year and spends $60 million less than the blue jays this year, on payroll. cubs spending $130+ million less on payroll than the phillies. not hard to figure out where the sarcasm and cynicism come from.

i do realize that you are captain baseball from the sox army, but can't take your tucker statement as ex cathedra. just like 3rd base or SP & RP, the sarcasm and cynicism is directed at cub management who failed to extend tucker after the trade and are currently watching his price go up by the tens of millions every week - increasing the difficulty for shysters ricketts & hoyer & hawkins of resigning tucker. that's the yawn? plenty of excitement - the other issues address trying to win the national league, not beating out the brewers for 1st in the central and getting swept in the 1st round and then losing tucker to free agency. the yawns are for eli morgan and justin turner.

as far as pca, look at some of the late 2023 cub game threads - cubs fan here shitting on him. a few "you hate to see it" from captain baseball as the cubs faded away from the ever elusive WC spot. the man hit in triple A against the same pitchers other young talents in mlb had hit. it was a matter of time for pca, time some fans didn't have for him. he was big spasm and at times, still is.

speaking of tucker and ricketts, the cubs apparently low-balled pca on a recent contract extension. pca is playing for $250 million, not $89 million. the club generated nearly $200 million more in revenue than the blue jays last year and spends $60 million less than the blue jays this year, on payroll. cubs spending $130+ million less on payroll than the phillies. not hard to figure out where the sarcasm and cynicism come from.
