No it was Soul Asylum. Maybe Joplin had similiar lyrics.

I love that Soul Asylum album

Q will get a pass this year since Soup got hurt plus Bowman screwed him with not going out aggressively and securing a top flight netminder.

i agree Vinny is not a good coach, but as far as this particular situation what did he do wrong? play Noah a few minutes longer than he should have?

Im thinking this situation dates back to the Portland game in February that went to OT. Noah was only supposed to play 10-12 minutes, but Vinny played him about 30. That's more than just a "few minutes". If Pax was so upset, he should have just fired Vinny right there, I don't think anyone would have cared.

Now Vinny could possibly save his job because he looks like the sympathetic guy in the situation. There just needs to be a full house cleaning. But can you be searching for a new front office while trying to bring in some superstar guys? I think they need more than Benny The Bull at O'Hare to lure Lebron or Bosh into town.

Barkley had the best comment about this: "I think Vinny uh kick his ass" (Please say this in your best Barkley voice)

My guys Matches, Zack, crosscheck, CIJ, Hoffney, and Darko - this exact quote is what I was referencing at the last poker game. It's not all Wu-Tang for my guy Hornsby.

First of all, yes, there needs to be a full house cleaning. no question

also agree that they need to move quickly if that is indeed their plan in order to make any kind of play at the big free agents. that's a great point.

my only point is that for however bad vinny as been, i think he will get another coaching job in this league. I'm not sure Pax will ever get another GM job elsewhere

Dave Pirner may be the worst song writer of his generation (lyrics-wise), Trent Reznor included. Pirner's words usually made very little sense.

I guess that with those lyrics I've:
A) shown some age.
B) shown that soul Asylum steals lyrics
C) yeah I get that Love, Shove aren't the same word but I was going with the Weird Al stylie and
D) who the hell qoutes "Soul Asylum"

sorry DS, not even close

also, Soul Asylum was a solid band for awhile. Yes runaway train was overyplayed and a novelty...but they had some solid power-pop albums. Cartoon is a great song...Hangtime is a solid album as is GDU

Call you up in the middle of the night
Like a firefly without a light
You were there like a blowtorch burning
I was a key that could use a little turning

So tired that I couldn't even sleep
So many secrets I couldn't keep
Promised myself I wouldn't weep
One more promise I couldn't keep

It seems no one can help me now
I'm in too deep there's no way out
This time I have really led myself astray

Runaway train, never going back
Wrong way on a one-way track
Seems like I should be getting somewhere
Somehow I'm neither here nor there

Can you help me remember how to smile?
Make it somehow all seem worthwhile
How on earth did I get so jaded?
Life's mystery seems so faded

I can go where no one else can go
I know what no one else knows
Here I am just a-drownin' in the rain
With a ticket for a runaway train

And everything seems cut and dried
Day and night, earth and sky
Somehow I just don't believe it

Runaway train, never going back
Wrong way on a one-way track
Seems like I should be getting somewhere
Somehow I'm neither here nor there

Bought a ticket for a runaway train
Like a madman laughing at the rain
A little out of touch, a little insane
It's just easier than dealing with the pain

Runaway train, never going back
Wrong way on a one-way track
Seems like I should be getting somewhere
Somehow I'm neither here nor there

Runaway train, never coming back
Runaway train, tearing up the track
Runaway train, burning in my veins
I run away but it always seems the same

What's amazing to me is that Mully & Hanley spent a large chunk this morning talking about the "edgy", emotional & tough John Paxson. Funny thing is that with very, very limited exception, I don't remember him EVER being referred to that way by them or any of the members of the press. To hear them tell it, he's always been a good guy, strait laced, a straight shooter. At worst  he's been a company man whose worst attribute is that he can't pull the trigger.

Maybe it's because they all consider themselves "friendly" with "Pax", and that he's such a nice guy... 8)

My mistake, it should have said "Way off, Darkside".

I misread the earlier post. Please forgive me, I forgot that everyone is supposed to love bagels, and now I must pay the price. :D

At first I thought this was a good thing, because it would mean both got fired immediately in the offseason. You guys bring up good points on Vinny though. I cant even begin to say how frustrated I will be if they bring Vinny back. I seriously might not even root for the Bulls next year.

As for him getting another coaching job... I'm not sure. I guess if he makes the playoffs he can say he made it back to back years, losing his best scorer, blah blah blah. I thought it's obvious that he's a terrible coach. Just look at the difference in Salmons in Milwaukee and here. It's ridiculous.

I was thinking RPB was making a take off of Jefferson Airplane too..

It sucks that we aren't talking about just how awesome Derrick Rose was last night. Instead it's about two guys who suck at their jobs and a slap fight.

Agreed. Rose was great last night. I didn't know 39 was a career high.

That windmill dunk was sick.
