if craft beer is only at 12% mkt share of total beer sales in the US, it's nowhere near topping out.

sure, hastily thrown together and rushed to market new craft brewers will come and go at a faster clip--but that's true of any rising industry.

look at shelf space in dedicated beer/liquor stores: craft beers dominate. even in the mainline grocers, craft beers are edging out macro brews for shelf-space and premium placement.

a near-term limiting factor for expanded craft beer production might be limited supply of the hops and other specialty inputs that all of these craft brewers are competing for. Flat prices for corn/wheat/staple grains should lead to farmers looking to increase their per acre profit by switching to higher-margin, niche crops. Like those required in the craft beer industry.

New Glarus has MANY good offerings. Spotted Cow is great for what it is.

The shade being thrown on New Glarus is backlash against it's exclusivity to Wisconsin rather than the product itself.

There is literally no hunting required for their products too. Just pop into Woodman's in Kenosha and you can grab pretty much anything in their lineup. It's nice not having to know a guy or being a beer trucking chasing piece of shit.

When we tailgate at Miller Park, we always grab some Spotted Cow...and some other New Glarus selections. Easily found at all gas stations as you travel up 90/94.

No, there are just better brewers in Wisconsin, such as Tyranena and Central Waters.

I don't dislike New Glarus, I just think they make average beers. I'm certainly not driving to Wisconsin to acquire some.

Tyranena is top shelf brew. Grange Hall on Randolph, the grass-fed burger joint with the country theme, always has a few Tyanena brews on hand. Usually special editions or one-offs tho.

Lakefront is great too. RIP Monkey Wheat.

I'm not throwing shade on New Glarus, it is what it is. Great Lakes water is the best in the world.

Idk, I read that and interpreted it as you saying it's not good beer.

Kirkwood sounds like the thirsty one.

From what I understand, the guy who sent me these waited all of zero minutes at his local store to buy the King Sue.

I used to LOVE spotted cow, now I don't really care for it. I'll certainly drink one over any massed produced pilsner or lager, but again...there is something in the water.

Looking forward to going to a large beer fest this weekend. It was very economical with a groupon and its outdoors so should be fun. Live music, food and many many craft brews. I guess they bring in tapper trucks. So we will see I may become a beer snob after all. I wish they had a complete list online but nope. Run by Rivertowne Brewing.

You don't like them because Scott Walker is Wisconsin's savior and Governor.

Admit it.

Tyranena and Central Waters are also Wisconsin brews. Reading is a skill.

Check the date on the can. They are probably old.
