No, there are just better brewers in Wisconsin, such as Tyranena and Central Waters.

I don't dislike New Glarus, I just think they make average beers. I'm certainly not driving to Wisconsin to acquire some.

You don't like them because Scott Walker is Wisconsin's savior and Governor.

Admit it.

Tyranena and Central Waters are also Wisconsin brews. Reading is a skill.

You hate them too.

Spotted Cow is a very good beer. To say otherwise is being contradictory just for the sake of it.

I think it's ok but very overhyped. Is that acceptable?

Of course it is. That is the best description of the beer.

It's the "Wisconsin Only!" exclusivity that keeps the interest high. It's a good beer. Kinda the same thing with Three Floyd's except that Three Floyd's is way, way more douchey hipster than almost anything else out there. Any bar that does "carry" Zombie Dust on tap will 9/10 times will have the cup over the tap and that's not by accident.

I don't care who is a hipster jackass, and who isn't. If you make a great beer, I will drink it.

It's not the greatest beer ever brewed but it's very good. I'm sure the WI exclusivity makes it seem better but that's OK with me. I drink it a few times a year.

Three Floyds is trash. All of it is overrated and the people running it are putrid assholes. Dark Lord is just OK. Zombie Dust isn't anything special. 18th St Brewery is probably the best in NWI. 3F can suck a dick.

It was a great beer in 2001, but craft brewing has come a long way in 15 years.

I'm sure it's still a great beer in Indiana, though, since that state is 20 years behind the rest of the country.

Yeah everyone had a race to see how many hops they could add to the beer. It's starting to get away from that but not soon enough.

100% agreed. The IPA craze led to a lot of shitty "Me Too!" brews that bummed me out. How bitter, heavy and tasteless cam we make it? Plenty, it turned out. Hence my love for Moon Man. Not to heavy. crisp and just the right amount of bitter. Not saying it was all poopy, but there was and is plenty of bad.

Three Floyd's can be alright but they are as much about the cult of personality as they are about the beer.

Talk about contradictory for the sake of being contradictory. Those are terrible opinions. New Glarus wishes they could make beers like Zombie Dust and Dark Lord.

To even compare these two breweries is crazy. One has a long line of exceptional, although overpriced, beers. The other is decidedly average.

You are a hipster beer burrito.

Now that that's been said, I will be up in Wassau for work next week, that's close to Central Waters, what are your Super Commando Beer Guy recommendations?

Glacial Trail IPA
Mudpuppy Porter
Satin Solitude Imperial Stout

Their special releases are usually very good. You should be able to find one up there. They make a good coffee stout, Peruvian Morning. Any of their bourbon barrel aged beers are great.

But I'm definitely not the first upstanding American to call you a burrito.

I will try all of those. If your word is solid and you come through then you may just make sergeant for this, Lou.

New Glarus gets the OVERHYPED/AVERAGE:
1) exclusive to Wisconsin - so can't just hop to Binny's or wherever to get some
2) but widely available in Wisconsin - so easy to get at any Wisconsin store selling beer
3) lacks one signature whale overrated beer

They don't make one bad beer or one OMG beer. But everything is tasty. Gimme a brewery like that ANYDAY.

The Spotted Cow hatred is clearly due to its style as a cream ale. Beer geeks pop chubs for IPA, DIPA and BA Stouts. MOAR HOPS!!!! MOAR BARREL!!!!!

Worst part of Cali, but you get used to the weird women.....I oversee our office out here.

Edit: there is an Asian woman at the bar, Melina, flirting with the hot blonde bartender, Cassie. She just asked Cassie about her Zodiac sign. Me thinks Melina is looking to lick some carpet tonight.

Dark Lord is just meh. I was so pumped to try it for the first time and I was underwhelmed. Zombie Dust is not anything special, plenty of other IPAs out there that are equal or better. 3F is about selling the experience of paying double for your beer and getting treated like shit by stupid fuckers that couldn't get a job anywhere else. My hatred for 3F is very high haha.
