It's probably something that could have been repaired/replaced for $100 with aftermarket parts but I took it to the dealer.
Why don't you just flush your money down the toilet?
Something like that, that's so cosmetic, I want it repaired right. I have a shade tree mechanic who will save me money, but I didn't want to cut a corner here and have an obviously cheap piece of black plastic coming out the top of my otherwise nice car. They did suggest replacing the battery for $400 and replacing the wipers for $70, both of which I declined.
I had some other stuff done though and I couldn't be happier with Autohaus service. There's a dealership within walking distance of my house but I drove all the way up to Northfield because of issues I've had with their service department.
The last time I took my car to the place by my house I was really unhappy. I had brought the car in under warranty because the engine light was on. They "fixed" it, no charge, but within a week the light was back on again. They obviously couldn't figure out what the problem was so I drove around with it that way for awhile as the car was running okay. When I finally brought it back in the car was out of warranty. This time they fixed it and charged me a bunch. I didn't argue about it though. I just paid the fuckin' bill and vowed never to get service or buy another car there again (I've bought three from them).
When I received the survey I answered the questions honestly. I was very unhappy with their service. This is the fucking e-mail I got back addressed to my wife and me. Do you think this is appropriate?
We received your survey response from 2/21/2018 regarding your most recent visit with us with your Mercedes Benz on February 7, 2018.
I was surprised by the responses and wanted to follow up to see how we did not meet your expectations at this visit.
I was surprised due to the fact that I stayed after we closed to take care of Joe when he arrived for drop off, I explained all the minimum factory maintenance requirements that were due on the vehicle which he authorized as well as the additional work. Lastly at pick up, nothing was brought to my attention as a concern.
Based on the survey response, can you please explain how we did not meet your expectations? I take pride in the work I do here and the survey responses are personal, so if there is something we did not do to meet you expectations, I’d like to be made aware of it.
Thanks for your time.
