That's where you are wrong. You're acting as if these guys are NFL players. The majority of these guys couldn't bench press 360 one time if their lives depended on it. The NBA uses 185 lbs in their camp and Durant couldn't bench press it once. Many of the players don't do it 10 times. These guys aren't workout warriors. I was at the Bucks game last night and Larry Sanders arm is half the size of mine and he's a PF. As I said athleticism will be a bigger issue than size. Most women have good lower body strength too.

You will be hard pressed to find any high school or college strength coach that will agree with you.

That most NBA players aren't workout warriors? I don't see how that can even be disputed. The eye test alone answers that. Guys like Ben Wallace and LeBron James clearly spend a lot of time in the weight room but they are the exceptions. The rest can't be disputed. I can post a picture of my arm to back up my comment about Larry Sanders.

Here is my problem with your argument. You are picking and choosing who and how she plays to say she belongs. You are quoting stats to say she is league average in height and weight and saying she is bigger than many players in the league and there fore she could play in the paint. What next, she shoots a better FT% than D Howard so she belongs? You site Reggie Miller as someone she may be able to muscle over. Reggie wasn't a muscle player and god help him if he banged in the paint. It wasn't his game. He was an elite shooting guard that could shake his shadow for an open look.

Yes, she may be able to over power reggie miller in the block. And looking at this list of players from draftexpress, I bet JaMychal Green could also over power Reggie in the paint. JaMychal was 3rd in bench press on that list, is 6'9' and 217 a 7'2 wingspan and a max vert of 32 inches. And was undrafted.

Can we agree based him being undrafted, that he doesn't belong in the NBA?

Do you think he could go Jiwuana Mann on Baylor's team and lead them to a National Title and put up similar stats to her. If you do think she belongs, then she must be able to do something that he can't.

I would love it if she could, but its just absurd.

We don't know that smaller guards will be physically stronger. The assumption is made because she is a woman.

I'll go by ten years of coaching both boys and girls at the high school level along with observing various sports and weigh room numbers of both sexes. When above average to elite high school female athletes can't compete physically in lifting, jumping and running with average high school boys of the same size, how would that change at the elite level? It is only going to get worse.

I'm not really picking and choosing anything. The stats are a factual counter to the opinions held by many in this thread.

Looking at the list from draft express some of the top draft picks couldn't lift and as you pointed out one of the strongest men in the draft didn't get selected. That actually supports my point that strength isn't everything. Kevin Durant not being able to lift 185 is another fine example of strength not mattering. So once we get beyond the height and strength stuff we get down to skill.

Being undrafted doesn't mean he doesn't belong. The NBA talent evaluators miss on good to great players nearly every draft. Some fall to the 2nd round and others don't get draft.

Of course a strong man can play the role of Shaq and dominate women. That's not what Griner did in college though.

Saying it's absurd is wrong IMO. We've seen YouTube clips of lesser known/talented players holding their own against NBA players. It's not absurd to believe that a woman (possibly Griner) could play in the NBA.

If you put her picture next to some NBA level prospects there wouldn't be a noticeable difference in their physical size. In some cases she could be bigger.

Who? Don't pick a point guard either. Pick a post player.

I'm not sure why this continues to get lost but MOST does not mean ALL. I've acknowledged that there are physiological differences between men and women BUT there are exceptions to the the rule. Most men would would beat a woman in a fight BUT there are women who would beat the shit out of all of us fairly easy. There are women who will overpower us. There are EXCEPTIONS.

When it comes to the NBA money and lifestyles change a lot. That high school kid probably wasn't partying all night and eating like money grew on trees. In the NBA some of the elite players aren't in the best shape. That's why their careers don't last long.

I remember playing football in HS our quarterback Dante Culbreath (Simeon's current head coach) was bigger than just about everyone on the team even the offensive linemen. It was all natural though. The guy didn't spend a second in the weight room. I remember him making an appearance one day and he looked bad.

Why do I have to pick a post player? How much bigger is Larry Sanders than she is? Is he bigger. How much bigger is KD?

The Bobcats should give her a tryout. They have nothing to lose, and could use the publicity.

When an overweight 75 year old Jordan can beat your best player in a 1 on 1 you have some issues.

Haha. But seriously, have her play a preseason game, and go from there, like with Manon Rheaume. See how she does playing at 100% against NBAers at like 40%.

This was a high school. Taking off from barely inside the free throw line isn't barely dunking BTW.
